The Protector module is blocking my IP address. I entered other addresses for blocking. I have changed the name of the protector directory and can enter the administration panel. Otherwise, after logging in as the Administrator, Protector gives info that "This account is disabled for your IP by Protector.
Clear cookie if you want to access this site as a guest. "
Where can I change it? Delete your IP address so that Protector does not block me?

I am having the same problem. What did you do to fix it?

Re: The Protector module is blocking my IP address.

Protector keeps its list of bad IP addresses in a file names "badips" followed by 6 hex characters unique to your system.

If you are using XOOPS 2.5.9, the "badips" file is found in the "xoops_data/protector/" directory.

In earlier XOOPS versions, the file will be in the "xoops_lib/modules/protector/configs" directory.

Deleting that file, or editing it to remove the line with you IP address should end the ban.

Good afternoon, I did the whole procedure, I cleared the browser cache. I updated the browser and still the message still appears: "You are registered as BAD_IP by the Protector. This restriction will expire on 1/18/2038 9:14:07 PM"
You sent Today at 12:55
I deleted the "badips" file in "xoops_lib / modules / protector / configs".
Does anyone know another way to solve this problem?

hi
please check also \xoops_data\protector\ and delete file badips....

if still not working, quick and dirty: go into database table modules and change value "isactive" from Protector from 1 to 0

Goffy, my installed Xoops is older than version 2.5.9, it doesn't exist inside the xoops_data folder to the "badips" file.
I'm very new to xoops, I don't know how to get to the database table to do the "isactive" modification of the protector from 1 to 0.

hi

ok, then maybe another method crowbar ;)
loggin in via another network (e.g. via your handy) in order to get a new IP
or ask a good friend to log in with your account from another computer/ip and to deactivate protector.
After that you can deinstall protector (hopefully badip file is also deleted) and reinstall it

And it is strongly recommended to update your XOOPS to last version
