Blank admin page after update to 2.4.5

Hi,

I have just made an upgrade of my page to 2.4.5 and everything seems to work execept the admin section. When clicking on the administration link in the user menu I get a white page.

I have removed my catch files but still blank.


Any suggestions?

Most of the time this is related to wrong configuration of Trust Path, or missing module files in the /xoops_lib directory

1) Make sure that you have the correct Protector files in /modules/protector, and in /xoops_lib/modules/protector (as in the 2.4.5 package)

2) also, make sure that the mainfile.php points the "trust path" to the /xoops_lib directory, and to your old trust path directory that you used before the upgrade

3) If you use "altsystem" module, make sure that the altsys files that are designated to be in the trust path, are in /xoops_lib/libs/altsys directory

3) If this is all OK, and you're still getting empty page, go to phpMyAdmin, and in the table "xxx_modules" table (where xxx is your prefix), set the "isactive" to 0 to your modules (except the System module). Do it one by one and test if the white page goes away. This way you'll find out which module is causing the problems. If it's an older module, you might need to updated it to a newer version.

Setting the admin theme to default in the db may also help.

Okey. Thanks for the help. I will test that after work and see if your suggestions work. I post a new message after I have tried it.

Thanks for the help.

It was the Protector module who gave me the blank admin page.

I didn't upload the two files in the root of the "xoops_lib"-folder.

The admin page works again!

I had the same issue this weekend after upgrading.

Good thing there are so many knowledgable people with great answers!

Hi,

I went into phpMyAdmin and changed Protector to 0 and it solved the blank admin page.

I have copied up all the correct folders and files. However, I don't have xoops_data or xoops_lib in the root.
My trust path is not in the www directory, but one level up.

My new mainfile.php has the correct paths, and user / pw for the database etc.

My modules are all showing now and I updated all of them, but just above the icon for protector (which I activated now) says "Module File for protector Not Found!".

I did like the upgrade said, "copy all the files in htdocs into the root".

In the root/modules/protector folder is:
blocks folder
images folder
preload folder
preloads folder
index.html
mytrustdirname.php

The xoops_lib/modules folder has the protector folder and it has all those folders and files in it that came with the upgrade.

Any ideas on what I should do about the "module file not found" error?

The problem could be that there is a version mismatch between Protector files that you have in /modules/protector and /xoops_lib/modules/protector

I would delete both, and copy fresh Protector files from the latest release. This way you'll make sure that they are correct.

Let us know if this fixed that issue

I also had a question about your instructions above. On the line:

Where it says "AND", am I supposed to have the mainfile point to my trust path xoops_lib AND also have a copy of those folders in my root?

Hi again,

I removed the directory:
xoops_trust_path/xoops_lib/modules/protector

and

www/modules/protector directory.

Copied them back from the xoops2.3.3b-to-2.4.4 folder.

The protector module still has the "Module File for protector Not Found!" message.
