FTP and file managment module for xoops v2.3.3

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a module allowing to manage directly by the administration the uploading and downloading of XOOPS files, and also editing them. Like an explorer, editor and ftp manager.

Modules i found about it looks quite old...

Could you advice me for a recent one or do you think possible to develop one?

In fact, i really need it because i'm away from my country (france) and can not access to my free hoster ftp... (i can by controlling my parents computer, but its quite long and complicated to transfer my files on their computer and next transfer it by ftp on my server)

I think such a module could be useful for everyone ;)

Did you check out the file managers?
To avoid major security risks, ake sure the modules are only available for webmasters.

Tks for your answer. I test the file manager but it doesn't seems to work on 2.3.3

In fact this modules was posted in 2004 :(

The only module that i found and can partially use for some functiuns is "XPLORER", old also with bugs and not so complete. But it allows me to upload files on my server.

I think this kind of module is quite usefull for lot of people. I was surprised to not found more recent module about file management!

Hi,

I'm looking for the same.

Others cms offer the opportunity of group permissions with upload to a specify directory and last but not least the drag&drop!!!

I remember that filemanager was quite good, but nobody follow the project.

I'm interested in, but I'm not able to create a module.

I want to create a community where all the members can contribute uploading documents and let the visitors download these documents.

There is an updated version, that is not relying on register_globals.

But be very careful with the use of this kind of module, as this can be a potential inroad (= highway) for hackers. Use an Apache password to additionally protect the directory /modules/filemanager/

With user added content, be very cautious on what is admitted. Restrict types and follow close what is uploaded or your site's content is abused for hacking other sites. Ultimatly, you stay responsible for the entire site's content.

For user additions, there are modules as xcGal, UserPages, ClientSpace, and Yogurt.

Hi Ghia,

Thks for this information!

I just come back to France 2 days ago and so don't need this module anymore :( In case i would come back in september in Singapore, i will test the updated module this week... i will let you know ;)
