I was trying to install last xoops version 2.6 to check if it is opertional or not.
I'm running under php 5.4
MySQL version: 5.0.51a

Ending the installation, i get this error :

Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_called_class() in /home/.../www/xoops26/xoops_lib/Xoops/Module/Helper/Abstract.php on line 64

Maybe too complicated for me... Is there any way already existing to just show a field without allowing editing it ?

Like the field "last connection on..." : it is visible but can not be edited...

Thank you black_beard for your answer.

First, i need to precise that i'm using xoops 2.5.4 (didn't have time yet to update), and that i'm not speaking abour user management in system module, but i'm speaking of "Profile module version 1.62".

1/ For the first point, i look to your post, but it hink i do not have problem with recording. My problem is more about the fact to be able to choose following options for profile fields :
=> Show/hide a field (just show - not editing): is it the same as the permission "make users able to look for this field" ? i don't think...
=> Edit a field : Ok with this one : it show the field... but unfortunately user can edit it...

2/ I found a solution in the table profile_visible : i deleted all lines about the fields id corresponding to the fields i didn't want to show (but if i want to come back, it will certainly be more complicated :))

Hi all,

1/
I'm looking to create a field visible by each member, but not editable... I tried many permissions, but it's look like i can just make a field visble or hide it...

In fact, i need to communicate a personnal information for each of my members so i would like to deliver it to them in their profile... but or they see it and they can edit it (i don't want them to edit), or i hide it...

Is there an option that i didn't know ?

I also would like to hide following fileds :
- timezone
- member since
- rank
- last login
But it didn't work...

@ flipse : this explorer doesn't allow users to upload files, but you can limit jpeg, png files... and give them access to a dedicated ftp, even to an other server that the one where is installed the cms ! So the risk can be avoided

@ jcweb : the use of Ajaxfile manager is more to manage in back office the file (images, etc.) of xoops, than to create a real galery, using ftp hierarchy, tags, etc.

Ajaxplorer bridge

Hi all,

I discovered one month ago an incredible explorer, ajax based, called "ajaxplorer".

It's a very powerfull explorer, allowing to manage differents ftp folders access, upload/download files through the www, with a drag and drop tool with mozilla firefox... and many other things.

It looks like it already offer bridges with some CMS but i didn't find any for xoops.

Does someone already created one ? Does someone interested by such tools to create a bridge with it ?

The author already included a plugin to indentificate users from a cms, but i'm not able to develop it.

Hi all,

I need to send a newsletter to my members, to inform them that i'm going to send them by post some documents...

So, using profile module, i created fields like "document1", "document2", "addresse1", "zip_code", "city"... where i will import data i already have (about my association members)

I now would like to send them with a newsletter module (like "enewsletter"), a mail like :

"Hello,
I inform you that we will freely send you X documents 1 and Y documents 2 next week to your following address :
Address 1
zip code, City
Please check your address and inform us if it's not correct.
regards"

Question : how can i call fields i created in my profile module tables to include them in my mail (address,... ) ? I think i need to create "smarty", but i don't really know where and how to create them... Your help would be welcome.
