Is there a hack for fckeditor (fields) for adding metatags: specifically, keywords and description. That would automatically fill a page's metatags in news?

IF so, I am very anxious to know! The SEO aspects of creating news pages for an online news publisher is vital to using xoops. I am thinking of moving to this CMS and need to be able to add keywords and descriptions for every news article we publish.

That is more a function of the news or article module you select, not the visual editor. Have a look at the News module by instantzero, or SmartSection
