can i put my trust path (with XOOPS lib XOOPS data be before my public_html or must it be in the public

It should be put outside the web root (public_html) and your directory tree should look like this (fig 1 and 3).
When it is placed inside the web root (fig 2) all versions up to and including 2.3.2b have a security flaw (follow the advices to limit the damage).
