When should we expect to find a repository of XOOPS modules in one place?

Will that place be dev.xoops.org?

Appreciate all your hard work phpp and team

Thank You
Gecko

Unless plans have since changed, the dev.x site is for development projects.

Modules and themes will be located at addons.x

I'm not sure on time scale, but I do know this has been worked on and to my knowledge is still work in progress.

First I've heard of mod dev being on addons.x

I personally don't see the point of having two sites for mod development, 'cus that's what we are talking about. Core dev will be at sourceforge AFAIK. The mod dev site should contain everything to do with developing good modules and the published modules themselves.

The new repository WAS supposed to have been at addons.xoops. Goodness knows what the plan is now.

dev.xoops - as far as it remained alive - would have been for development. However, if someone is actively able to maintain it (and perhaps apply any changes from novelforge to Xoopsforge?) - then perhaps it can still stay open.

dev.xoops is for development projects.. but dev.xoops is not the module repository.. it never has been.

https://xoops.org/modules/repository/ is the current module repository.

but that was meant to be changed to addons.xoops.org instead.

there was also discussion of opening up xmnt at sourceforge and using sourceforge resources for the module developments to give them CVS & SVN access just for mods and seperate the modules from the core SF site to make things easier to use. essentially XOOPS SF being only for core developments and xmnt (xoops modules and themes) project just for modules & themes developments. again seperating core devs & module devs, to make things easier to maintain.

but who knows what's happening.. this whole crazy situation is moving way too fast like a free for all, everyone jumping in. in a sense there's a lot of disappointed people who have spent countless months working on other things, that are now seemingly gonna be scrapped.

There is a post isHERE about current status of addons site.

Right at the top of dev.xoops.org it says
Quote:
The XOOPS Module Development Forge is a collaboration website for the development of open-source modules for the XOOPS system

It makes no sense (to me) to have the repository in another place, as the files are available there. I've asked snow77 to let me have a look at addons.xoops.org to see what that is about.

please refer to:
https://xoops.org/modules/newbb/viewtopic.php?topic_id=59368&forum=47

Since there is no report from the sites mentioned above, we don't know how much it has been done, how it will be, I would suggest the Module Dev Team Leader to make his proposal about site name, site url and site design

D.J. I read the post about sites reporting. Ana has reported back after a fashion.

In your notice you say Quote:
An official site shall use unified XOOPS Project theme or a theme recommended by the Design Team and approved by the Council.

dev.xoops.org does not have the current theme and I don't know about addons.xoops.org

I don't know enough about sourceforge (which I guess is what dev.xoops.org is sitting on top of,) to know whether we can mould it into something that we want.

Whatever the site is called it has to fill 2 major functions:

1/ Quick easy and intuitive access for XOOPS users to download the latest version of a module, categorised and indexed. These are the site users and do not need to sign in.

2/ Full sourceforge like capabilities for module developers. These are the site members and will need to sign in (moderated registration.)

My view is that the site should initially appeal to the site users and only reveal its full self once a member has signed in.
