Hi,

One of my clients wants to automatically add several links to social bookmarking sites at the bottom of each of their posts. They are using the News 1.2 module, and although I'm familiar with Xoops, I'm stuck on this one. Does anyone have any recommendations on the code I would need to add to the article template to get these to appear and pre-populate with the article URL and title?

Thank you!

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, I would assume that this would work:

Quote:
<p><a href="http://www.sitename.com">Link to External Site</a></p>

Find the place you want to insert the code and it should work

msdana, if it were that easy....

The social bookmarking sites (like digg, ma.gnolia, and the like) require the url and title of the post to be sent to them, if you want to 'digg' a post, or mark it in magnolia. Check their sites API descriptions on how to build such a link, there should be a lot of info there. You can add the code to build the link to the templates. It should be doable.

check that "transfer" package along with article or cbb
in the "bookmark" subpackage you could find del.icio.us and furl, you could also add digg or anyother ones

The "transfer" could work with any module as a plugin

Re: Social Bookmarking and News Module

Hey, if added this little java script to my smartsection template.

It looks like it works but I haven't tested it yet as this part of my site is not yet online. So let me know if it does not work

Update: It works! I had no reason waiting with implementation on my calendar for Brazilian activities. You can see the result here. Good luck!
