What the Heck are these files in my Newbb folder ??

Hello, i am having some usage probs regards a script in my forum
so iam trawling through the Newbb folder backing it up and was going to try the CBB 3.05
anyway just having a quick gander through the files and i see these two files and they are MASSIVE in size ..seriously , i have no clue what they are and what they are doing there
could anyone tell me please
the two files are called
core.11676- 223.22 MB
core.1184 - 1.99 GB

hark at the size of them !! that cannot be right ..can it?
what the hecck are they ?

Seems to be log files.

eejut,

A little search on google for your first file name, came up with this, forum post from a Mambo forum.

I searched for the second and came up with nothing.

Its most likely fine to delete those files off your server, as they are most likely log files like phppp said.

Or if you are not sure about doing that, contact your web host.

I have had a core file or two appear in the past and deleted them with no problem but you'll probably want to double check with your host or someone with more experience than me.

I do know that mine appeared after I had some sort of problem or error and they were on a site using Smarty (non XOOPS) - though I don't know if having Smarty was a coincidence.

Big Thanks for your replies guys!
i deleted them,man... i have had probs lately with my site :(
tried updating newbb2 to cbb 3.05 and it was a disaster
glad i backed up the old one
and still i cant find a way to remove the makepdf option from my forum
anyway
