Is anyone using ms-weather? If so, are they experiencing any problems?

I've had it installed on a few sites and now on all sites its dead and pulls no info, just a blank.

Any idea?

At least I know I'm not loosing my mind or I screwed something up.....haha.

Now, how do we fix it?

I'm guessing yahoo changed their system on how it reports and the module needs updated. I tried phpdebug and it's not getting cityname etc......

That hasn't been proven yet.

It looks like they're relying on the Weather Channel more for getting their information. The entire Yahoo Weather seems to have changed quite a bit. I'll see what I can find out.

I use it on a phpNuke site and it is indeed dead.
I have been figuring it out.
Yahoo has changed the code a lot so the old ripper no longer finds things like <!--CURCON--> on which it depended.
I have figured out, using my little custom ripper tool, how to get the data from the new site configuration, but I need the wayback machine to remember how it "looked" when it worked so I can extract the same info as before. I then need to translate from my generic ripper to the matyscript code.
Having said all that, I am no sure what XOOPS is (googled msweather broke to get here) so I am not sure what it means to users on this forum.

Please don't hold your breath for me.
I am not known for fast.
In addition, there is more and more copyright warning these days.
For example, here is what the file we have been using now says at the top:

<!--

The data (conditions, forecasts, news, images, logos) contained in
this page are copyrighted by Yahoo! Inc. and the Weather Channel
Enterprises, Inc. You are prohibited from using or repurposing this
data in any way without express written consent from Yahoo! Inc. and
the Weather Channel Enterprises, Inc.
If you are looking for a source of weather data, please see the
National Weather Service Website athttp://www.nws.noaa.gov/. Their

So I may be switching to NOAA myself.

Is this something that would be helpful or completely different?

I remember some weather module that required this but cant recall which it is or if it was even for XOOPS cms.

Ive tinkered and tried so many over so long, I forget what is what and when I did it, haha.

Anyway, I just hope somebody has a remedy and fixes this wonderful module or ports one from another cms that is equal to it in features.
