I have deleted files from template_c folder, because I uploaded new theme files and i'm using this method to force XOOPS to use new files insteed of cahced ones.

Now, my XOOPS has blank pages with debug errors:

Warning [PHP]: fetch(C:/site/templates_c\%%42^428^428512AB%%db%3Asystem_block_mainmenu.html.php): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in file C:\site\class\smarty\Smarty.class.php line 1255

It's clear, deleted files mising. I tried this way of theme reseting on other XOOPS installations and XOOPS sucessfully recreated this files, but, this is some older version of XOOPS 2 (I don't know which one, other guy installed). Can someone please help me, how to tell XOOPS to recreate there chache files?

Thanks in advance!

it's ok to delete all files in templates_c. Make sure templates_c , cache, and uploads folder are chmod 777 and update the modules you think are causing problem from the module administration panel.

I don't understand what your saying. First go to your FTP and chmod 777 the folders I mentioned.

I'm using Web File Manager, I don't like it but I must because of server administrator that is affraid of FTP, so, what I can see, that all mentioned folders are writable.

I know that it works fine, because this XOOPS worked a little bit, before i deleted this files and uploaded new theme...

Now I'm wondering how to update modules cause i can't go to admininistration pages, I can't see nothing...

thanks for help!

Check the FAQ on blank pages to find ways into your site. There is a part that deales with what 'Failed opening required' could mean. Once back in your site...go for the default theme till you sort things out.

I would be looking to change hosts to one that will allow ftp - it is a rather essesntial ingredient for managing a XOOPS site.

Once you do get it back up and running I would be upgrading it to the most recent stable release...there are FAQ's on how to do this too.

Make sure that uploaded theme file did not get corrupted along the way...and check you follow all steps necessary when installing a new theme...it is not enough to simply upload the files...

Can you log in when you go directly to /user.php?

If so, check in system admin -> general preferences section whether you have the option to 'Update module template .html files from themes/your theme/templates directory?' set to Yes.
