I have a big problem and as a beginner I have no idea what to do about it. I have two forums installed on my site used by two different groups. The original forum is newbb and the new forum is IPBoard. When I installed IPB it took over the PM/Inbox module with its control panel. As the users of the newbb forum do not have access to the IPB forum they nolonger can send or receive private messages.

Is their a way to get the old Inbox back? I don't really need the IPB control panel if its necessary to de-activate it. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you in advance!
Jeanne

The only thing that pops to mind....

Instead of restricting the module (IPB) via groups, why not restrict the IBP Forum categories (via the IPB admin) by group?

The IPB PM's has a huge advantage over the XOOPS one as it has a quota system. No more out of control PM tables! It will even delete the PM's when you delete a user

yup, Goober is right :)

unfortunately it's use ipb PM/inbox or nothing..

not sure on ur reasoning for having both newbb and ipb tho.. especially when you can make forums and categories only visible to the groups u want :S so each will only see what you want them to see.

Has this been submitted as a feature request to David? Sound like a good enhancement.

I worry about using IPB due to updating Xoops. You have to wait for a patch from koundashi (sp?).
