I'm planning on building a XOOPS site for a distributor that sells hobby related r/c car items.

I do not want an e-commerce solutions just a module that can display the different products offered for dealers with descriptions and photos and able to categorize them.

Also would like other modules for :

- links
- photo album of race events
- news
- a technical info page
- about us
- policy
- contact us

I'm looking for some rock solid modules that can help me design this site with Xoops.

Thanks in advance for the help.

Not sure about the first module, maybe wfsections. Maybe someone will make a suggestion for you on to.

Xoops2.0.13.1 comes with a links module I think.
xcgallery is a good photos module
There is a news module also with 2.0.13.1
What do you mean by "technical info"?
For an about us, personally I would just creat an aboutus.php file and wrap it into the XOOPS layout.
Probably the same with policy
And contactplus is a good contact us module.

Hope that helps.

There are lots of modules in the repository. Install xoops, and try them out. I am sure you will probably find the ones you need.

Let us know.

The technical info would be like the about us. I will wrap it as per your suggestion.

Know, any tutorial on wrapping pages within the layout ?

The first part is like a store without the prices and ordering capabilities.

Will wait and see what the others suggest.

Thanks SHANK.

Personally I use oscommerce for dealer / catalogue sites.
Just remove the buy now buttons / cat box etc, so the viewer can't buy a product.
Use the contributions like ask for price etc.
Lots of contributions for extra info pages.

See one of my dealer sites that is currently being setup at the moment BlueLightUK for ideas.

I tried to use XOOPS before for that sort of thing but it dosn't lend itself to it very well. And K shop module for XOOPS is terrible at the moment, needs a lot of work still.

You may also want to take a look at WF-Channel it has quite a few neat options. One where you can add your own (multible) html pages. Plus you can clone the heck out of it with an online generator.

The Commerce Pack is definitely worth a look. It has a great selection of modules for a typical setup.

The XOOPS osCommerce module has recently been updated too.
