Creating an index page!

I am new to XOOPS I've been using XOOPS 2.0.7.3, Apache & mySQL. I want to have my own index page and when I click a certain link on that page it's only the time it will go to the XOOPS main page, can anyone help me.

Why not just create a page in the home folder called index.html and then have whatever you want in this static page. Then, have a link to your XOOPS page on that html page.

To do this neatly, you should install XOOPS in its own folder, not in the root of your main site.

I have mine set up in a folder called /bb

So i call my XOOPS withhttp://www.scalr.com/bb

To see an example of a page that uses the same theme and cascading style sheet as XOOPS but is a simple html page that redirects to xoops, check out http://www.yyzlifestyle.com

just use index.html and put your page in there with the link pointing to index.php

use any editor to make html pages

I did a Google to see how to do the index page as well. Okay, I understand to make it now:)

Do I put that index.php (or is it .html) file within the folder of the theme I uploaded? I'm using the default theme for the moment.
