i don't think that it is the nicest way ... but personally nothing against it on my pages if you use it for learning things and don't state that it is your theme.

on those themes where i exercise some dynamic smarty stuff i denied direct access to folder or less theme.html but rendered html and css can be viewed by many tools ...
