Hi,
I'm interested in deploying XOOPS for my site in Thai language. I couldn't found existing Thai version of XOOPS, so I would like to translate it and contribute to xoops.org. I'm familiar with html, php, css but just start studying structure of XOOPS.

I spot that there is language/english/ directory in every module that keeps the definition of constant to local text. If I correct, I would just create the 'thai' subdirectory, then copy all file from english and translate those text to Thai. Am I understand correctly? I need some suggestions to make it correct. Anyone here, please advice.

a little question about encoding...

I'm using the EditPlus to edit the file, do I have to save it in UTF-8 encoding? and Does it need Byte-order-mask in the header of the file?

Thanks

Hi,

How are the above thai translations going?
As I will need one soon, if they are not going well I will do my own translation.

Thank you

I have thai language module for xoops2. Not perfectly done.
But you can try. And give me a comment. I use charset=windows-874 for encode. Edit and modify by just
using a notepad. Tricky part is when save notepad have to
choose endcoding as UTF-8. Install by just copy those folder
to corresponding language folder. Then log in as Admin
then choose preference language to "thai"

File is on this link

ftp://ftp.enaca.org/pub/xoops/thai_language_pack.tar
