i recently visited ahttp://www.pitcher.no/ a php-nuke website, and i was surpised to see the awesome theme, at one instance it really looked much advance than Xoops, the theme expresed the advance nature or php nuke, though i dont have any idea if nuke is so advanced then xoops.

But yes i wished if xooops could have theme of that nature???? than that would be great. Can someone make similar theme... Look at there menus and the way rest of things are presented, its really awesome.

Is there any kown method of converting php-nuke themes to xoops???

I think its a matter of personal taste - I find that one a bit hard on the eyes although I am a fan of thin lines and borders. There's quite a few great XOOPS themes. Check out the lucastds02, or the universe theme pack for a bit of creativity. Stacks of stuff.

Not that hard to achieve IMHO. Although the collapsible menus might be a bit tricky.

I probably could do something similar, but it would take a while.
The Globetrotter module is available from the download section of my site, and also the download section here at Xoops.org.

Personally I don't think that XOOPS itself is limiting the creative use of themes, but the imagination of the users is (no offence meant here). Since XOOPS uses HTML and Smarty, a LOT is possible. Almost any TemplateMonster template can be converted to XOOPS, if the designer knows how XOOPS's theming and templating works. It will require customisation of templates (which I agree can be a lot of work), but then everything is possible. Take Draven's sites for example: www.gaining-mass.com and www.fantasyasylum.com and www.fantasyref.com, they all show XOOPS powered sites with lots of customisation done. The fact that not many people do this doesn't mean that the system can't do it...
