Users can do this in the "Edit Account" page after registration.

Methinks the requestor wants to force the name field to be filled in at registration time and to make it a non-optional entry.

html/include/registerform.php
html/register.php

Not 100% on what you want done, but if you want to make sure their is input in the name input field, a few lines of javascript can do taht.

This is exactly what I would like to do as well. Currently, when a user registers, they are prompted to fill in their Username, email address, website, password, etc. In addition to this information, I would like to force them to add their real name during the registration process. I realize it can be done by the users afterwards but if a user doesn't bother, I can tell who they are.

Unfortunately, I'm not a programmer. Can someone suggest some javascript to use and where to place it in the register.php file? Any and all help is greatly appreciated!

i guess one of the issues here is that there is no smarty template for register.php. i was informed there will be in future releases.
