If I were to change servers, take all the files off of one server and move all them to the other server, what exactly would I have to change in what files to get it up and running on the new server? Do I have to change the paths or anything?

change the mainfile.php in the root.

things you might need to change:
absolute path to files
database username/password
database name (as opposed to table names which should not change)

I believe all of these are stored in the mainfile.php. Don't think there are any records in the db that might need to be updated, but someone can correct me on that.

I am looking through the mainfile.php file and everything is right and I have the database created with the correct password and username and everything, yet I get a blank screen whenever I try and get onto my site. I have NO IDEA how to debug anything on this and the wiki was no help...

Any assistance please?

This is how i have done it...

backup database from current setup...

install fresh copy of XOOPS on new server...

go to admin...install all mods...etc

open phpmyadmin, and load database

done.

(prolly forgetting a step...been awhile since i did it) anyway, hope that helps.

I exported the sql file from the old server but how do I load it to the new one?
