They attacked the linux server, not XOOPS or exoops.

Not linux server only, but windows too

I discourage any form of deface, that's not the right way to show what you is able to do or to say something.
rumours say that the problem is the servers, other say that is e-xoops, but "try to keep it that way" sounds like something terribly stupid.

The problem is (was?) a hole in the xGallery module. If I am correct, XOOPS has addressed this issue a while ago, and the xoopsGallery module is safe.

Anyway a simple defacement it's better then a complete cracking. In this case defacement just showed bugs or holes... i mean better to be defaced then all server files deleted.

I think all Jan304 was saying was that he has never been the victim of that group of hackers, and hopes that he never is.

I don't think his comment was meant to mean anything more.

I agree. I think all Jan304 was saying was that he had never met that group of hackers, and doesn't want to. At least that's my take on it.
