Hi Folks,
i'm working with a small non-profit ngo here in germany and we would like to use XOOPS for our next campaign. XOOPS has a very active community and tons of useful modules; the only thing we really miss is a jobs module for XOOPS 2.x.
Therefore we'd like to encourage the development of such a module where users can provide jobs to other users. The whole thing should be cleanly implemented with permissions: groups that are allowed to post jobs and privileged groups to unlock or delete jobs etc.
Jobs should be searchable/sortable by date as well as by categories set by the admin or filled in by the user -- like regions, zip-code etc.
Users who offer a job then fill in their name, email, address, job-desription and some more fields and mark checkboxes created by the admin. The admin then views and unlocks the offer and other users can search for the jobs.
We can't give much because all the money goes into educational and peace projects - but maybe 50$ are enough to support you with pizza while coding Additionally it's for a really good purpose and other organisations would be thankful too for such a module. If you're interested reply or send a message for some ideas. We should need the module in about two months.

Have you looked at the xDirectory module? It's made by BuilderB, who is using it on his website. Check this out, it goes a long way (and maybe BuilderB is willing to make the required changes)

The version of xDirectory currently running on my site(Jan 21, 2004) is still in beta testing. The release version should be out in mid Feb. (I'm going on a much needed vacation for a couple of weeks returning in mid feb)

If you can create a wish list with bullet points. It will give me a clearer idea of what you're looking for and i'll be able to tell you if I can get to it in the next couple of months.

This is a module I was planning to create @ April-May since I have a need for it as well.

Cheers,

BuilderB

Sounds good - i will think of such a wish list in the next couple of days and send you a notification.
It would really be helpful for my organisation if we could get the job-module working until start of april -- but this in only best-case, so enjoy your vacation

Hi BuilderB,
did you have time to work on the job-module lately? I offer you my humble ideas if it can help you xdirectory is a great module, and i hope it is possible to modify it without too much a hassle. I can support you with some concepts and features which I think could be useful. What do you think?

I would guess it is a module based on builderb's self-authored module called: xdirectory.
