Request: how to get [url] opening link in same page

using [url] in a news item will cause the link always to open in a new window. Is there a functionality that allows you to add a variable to the [url] code so that the link opens in the same window?

I checked this solution but that applies to all links and I would to set the target per link (default would be _blank).
Quote:
The code that controls how links are handled is in /class/module.textsanitizer.php in the function makeClickable.

The target can be changed by modifying the line that starts with $replacements = array("...");

Kind regards,

Martijn

Hopefully a coder can help you..

In the meantime, I dont know if this is of any help, but the new spaw editor patch for XOOPS News defaults to creating url links that open in the same window.

It does not use [url]. The user first selects the text and and then clicks on the insert hyperlink facilty.

It automatically creates links like this:

Xoops

It is only useful in Explorer though. If users don't have explorer it defaults back to the XOOPS editor automatically.
