Does it take you to the admin page?

If it does, go to GROUPS, see if the Webmaster settings (permissions) are correct and if you belong to the webmaster group.


How did this turn out?

Did your webhoster change anything recently?

No joy - just got the same looping issue.

Nothing has been changed on the server side over the timespan of the problem (last few days)

all help appreciated btw!

Hopefully somebody else can help.

Oh, one idea, though.

If you are familiar with MySQL you could take a look at the various settings stored in the database, particularly the settings for you. Maybe something screwed up in your database.
Just a guess.

I am having the same issues. Here is my thinking. It has to be a server issue because I am able to login to this site and post so I know it isn't a firewall issue. I am at a loss and hope that someone knows what is going on or can suggest some ideas.

Was advised that it could be a caching issue as a possibility - and have added the following lines:

Again - I couldnt log in immediately - but eventually I could. But visitors cannot :(

Right - I think it's sorted finally!

The culprit seems to be a packaged called Help Centre Live - which has been installed by another customer on another site hosted by the same company.

According to this post:http://www.helpcenterlive.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=451&hl=sessions - it seems that this can clash with other pieces of software - including Mambo etc.... the problem described here is identical to my own!

I cant test this personally until this evening - but a few of my members have - and it seems to work now.

I'd like to thank both my ISPs support team (www.3dpixelnet.com - I owe you a big drink Alan!) for their great work in solving this - and also to the help from other XOOPS members.

Now - lets hope it works when I get home :)

I get the same thing. I moved my site to a new domain and directory on my host. All seemed fine, however, I keep getting the login loop. sometimes it logs me in, sometimes it doesnt. dont know what the problem is. nothing has changed.

Have you tried to see if it is the same problem as myself - or some other software that may be clashing? (Not on your site - on another on the same server)

I am working with my host on this. So hopefully it will be fixed. I am gonna give him this forum link to look at and see if it helps him at all. Also, when you said this may be a cache issue, what document do the two lines of code need to be edited into? Secondly, my host wants to know what perl script the login script uses.????
