Auto Approve News for Certain Groups?

I have searched the forums and haven't found anything so I am gonna ask it.

First off, why does the webmaster/administrator have to go through the admin control panel in order to post news? If I use the 'submit news' link, it waits for me to approve my own post. Shouldn't admins be able to submit their news w/o having to go into the control panel.

Secondly, is there a way to fix that? What I want to be able to do is allow a certain group to post news that is auto approved. If I have too, I will make them a tutorial on how to do it through the control panel, but would rather not have them have access to all admin functions.

When someone accesses my site www.shogunate.net, they ALL will see the message "Sorry, you do not have the permission to access this area....", because of the permissions I have set up. This message confuses them sometimes so they think something is wrong with the website.

Is there a way to change this message? I am sure of it, and if so.. WHERE?!?!

I want to change it to something like "Only Shogunate Members may log in to view this website". Sounds stupid, but I do have a few stupid users out there.

I appreciate the info, however, it only allows me to move topics. I need to move some posts from one topic to another. Not move a topic from one catagory to another. I know I can do it by editing the MySQL database for the catagory id, but was really hoping that I could do it through xoops.

search the forums for "login loop" or something similar. there are a few threads out there. I found that when I went into the admin control panel, went to preferences and chose a custom session, this stopped my problem with being logged out. It had something to do with the cookies. GL.

I fixed my login looping problem just by editing the session in the preferences under the admin control panel. it all works fine now. I went into the preferences, checked to use custom sessions then just edited my session time to lik 180mins or so since I stay logged on for long periods of time in the bg. works fine for me.

I finally sat down to work on it, and all I did was edit the cookie sessions in the admin preferences. works like a charm now!

They haven't done anything with the server itself. Both of my websites run on the same server, so I am pretty much convinced it lies somewhere else. My host is running PHP version 4.3.3.

But keep in mind, BOTH of my websites are on the SAME server. One is XOOPS 2.0.5 and my problem child is on XOOPS 2.0.6.
