Still having this issue -- thinking it might be a problem with my server so I installed IIS on another box & am still running into this issue.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks

Unzip the .tar.gz file on your computer, then try to upload the .tar file.

Stew -

Thanks for the suggestion -- I tried your suggestion & got the same results. The strange thing is that this doesn't occur if I use XOOPS 2.04 or 2.05 so I can rule out a problem with IIS itself.

Sorry about that. One thing I would do in your case, although it is a very dirty fix, is to replace the files from 2.05.1 back to the ones used by 2.05. Upload your files, then re-apply the patch.

Pretty sick, but one out of the box solution I can come up with.

I think that I've finally figured what the issues were (at least on a test server) --- I had been using mysQL 4.016 but once I regressed to mySQL 3.2.33 all my problems disappeared.

I am in the process of regressing mySQL on the production server & will post a follow up sometime tomorrow.

Cheers

If you had installed the template while using 2.0.5 and it worked, then you should only use the 2.0.5 upgrade to 2.0.5.1 patch to upgrade your XOOPS and not the full upgrade. That way the templates you had installed before are still there and usable. I have added new templates to 2.0.5.1 myself with no problems whatsoever. Just not the x2t one.

I had the same problem running on my IIS server. It worked one day, then did not work the next. I was able to determine that it stopped working after I ran the "IIS Services Lockdown Wizard". When I ran the wizard again to remove the changes made to IIS, I was able to upload templates again.

Does anyone out there know what the lockdown tool does to ISS which would prevent uploading in Xoops? I assume it must be one of the restrictions it sets. I like the fact that it is locking down my system but I'd also like to be able to reconfigure that one component which prevents XOOPS from working properly. Suggestions welcome!

Update ---

I was wrong in my previous post when I stated that it was a problem with the mySql version... I ran into the problem again on a new test server. I'll bet you money that the OOS lockdown tool modified folder permissions. You need to make sure that the IUSR account has read/list/write/modify access to the following directories:

cache
templates_c
uploads

That was my problem - somehow, the IUSR account did not have modify rights to the uploads directory and once I made the change, no more media upload errors which makes sense when you stop & think about it.

The permission I have set on those 3 directories is 777 and it still does not work. What do you mean by IUSR account? I would appreciate details on how to change this.
Thanks
