Inconsistant module administration problems.

I am having problems with my basic, unhacked XOOPS 2.0.7 installation.

This is happening with a various number of modules, but I'll focus on a bundled module, Forum. After installation, through the Administration panel, I can access the Forum Preferences, but trying to Add Forum or any other option, I get a "Selected module does not exist."

This happens on most other modules. Some menu items work, some don't.

I've tried turning the debugging on (PHP and MySQL), but it's not displaying anything of relevence. I've also tried uninstalling and updating Forum, but there is no improvement or change in this behavior.

When I type this in the search box, it gave me some good results :

For clarification, I believe Hervé means that you should search for that phrase on this site's search box (upper right).

lol i wouldn't say so.. just fed up of repeating yaself every week or so i guess :P

i think the search box oughta be highlighted in Bright Yellow.. surely it won't be missed then.. lol

No. But you have to put yourself in the mind of a newbie.

WHICH search box? The one on the site I just installed? That came up with nothing.

A problem many newbies have with techies is that we short-hand everything and expect them to understand it all. It is usually helpful to provide just a "pinch" more detail to relieve the frustration and not make them feel stupid if they don't understand your first response and so they have to ask for further clarification.

Don't worry . It's no big deal. I have, however, seen many responses here (by many people) that could have been just a bit more detailed to provide that extra bit of help needed.

i am also providing support on XOOPS France and we have the same "problems", users post before to search.

Oui. Je connais la probleme. C'est la meme chose ici. Mais, la choix de, comment dit-on <<re-direction>>??, peut-etre la choix meilleure.

D'accord, c'etait un longtemps quand j'ai une opportunite a pratiquer la langue francaise. (Et le keyboard... je ne connais pas la methode a choisir les accents!)
