Hello!

I've the IPB 1.4 module installed on my website. I experience some display problems when using firefox or Mozilla on certain topic but not all.

To see an example, go to this page with mozilla :
Display problem
and then with another browser.

You'll see the difference I guess.

To sum up, it should have 4 different posts on this page, but Mozilla does weird thing. It puts my sentence into the sentences of the previous user in this post, and doesn't display all the part of the message...

Well, I think you should see to understand better.

I hope someone will have a reply....

Thanks in advance!

Herko... As I've unchecked the photo modules and other things, the page seems to be displayed fine, but!... It's not...

The sentence started with "You are right, it's better to post it a little at a time" is from me (alyussium) but it's in the other user post

Actually, in this page, you should be able to see to see the posts in this order :
1) KiShinJu
2) KiShinJu
3) alyussium
4) anubispr

In firefox, you have :
1) KiShinJu
2) anubisfr

And my sentences have been mixed with KiShinJu sentence (also, i'm not on this page anymore with firefox!).

Yeah, I know, it seems mad...

If you have an idea of what could be wrong?

Or maybe you really see the page correctly? (it's true that if you don't see the page with another browser, you could believe the page is ok...).

Actually, it's mozilla that is handling standards better then MSIE, so you could consider running your page through a validator to see if there are any missing closing <div> tags or something. Try loading your theme.html in dreamweaver (first set the default encoding in dreamweaver to xhtml 1.0 transitional), maybe it will come up with something. Else try the w3c validators...

Actually, the ipb code was in the page as if it was on its own page. What I want to say is I have my website page, but in the middle, I have "<html>", "<body>", etc ...
I've deleted these ones but still have the problem ;-( ...

I'll try to search how to correct this...

Thanks again for your reply!

Oops... Seems like the smileys are the cause of these strange things

I've edited one of my post and deleted the first smiley. Before deleted this smiley, my text was "invisible" after this smiley... Once the smiley deleted, my text was here

Strange... strange... ;-(

Oki, about those smileys. It seems that mozilla "removes" or don't understand the comments.

Normally, I've that
<!--emo&:--dry-->
in my code, but Mozilla write:
--emo&:--dry-->

Seems that there is something weirder ;-( ...
Why does Mozilla removes "<!"... I don't know ;-(

After some other tests, it really seems to come from the smileys cause when I disable it in my account options, I can see all of the posts correcly.

As Mozilla seems to doesn't like the comments before the smileys, I'd like to remove it. But I don't know how to do that? I've tried to remove it in 3 files, but these comments are still here... (in "topic.php", "post.php" and "post_parser.php").

Could anyone know which file I've to modify to remove the smileys comments?

Thanks in advance for your reply! (I'm bored with that problem )
