Where are the news templates?

I thought you had to edit /modules/news/templates/news_xxx.html but that has NO effect on my articles.

What templates are responsible for the news?

XOOPS call the templates from the DB and not from HTML files in the web folders. Please do a search on cloning templates for editing. This will be the topic you want to tackle first.

I've already done a lot of cloning and uploading, but the news templates are not part of a theme (folder) afaik?

You cant edit the templates online, and I aint got them on the harddrive. How am I supposed to change them?

In your first post you referred to files /modules/news/templates/news_xxx.html. Do those files not exist in your XOOPS installation?

As an alternative to cloning a template set and editing the templates through the control panel, you can edit the actual files, and then update the associated module. You just have to be careful not to mess up your only copy of the files, so making a backup first would be prudent.

I got it now. Administration > Templates > Clone > Generate > List > Upload, could this be any more complicated o_O
