i want the page layout to be in somewhat like this pagehttp://www.tswn.com/modules/news/

it has
welcome block
Recent topics
Recent Comments
News
and other blocks below it.

can some one guide me how do i do that.
Currently i have
welcome block
Recent topics
Recent commnets
==NO NEWS BLOCK== rather a dropdown to select the news category /topuc

can some one tell me how to do that.

i tried to set the preferences -> startup page to News, on doing so the news module becomes first followed by Welcome and then the rest of the page, unlike what i wanted. :( i could not found anyway of moving that news below welcome and rencent comments block.

The placement of center-center, center-left and center-right blocks relative to each others and relative to the module content is defined in the theme's theme.html.

what ????

Mithrandir i think either you didnt understood what i was asking or i am not able to understand what you are saying.

I browesed through varios sites, every site which as this setup is having its first page /module/news/

i also tired setting up startup page to News, on doing this the news did come on the fist page, but the welcome block and rest of the block where moved below the news block and till now i am not able to figure out how to move rest of the blocks above the news

Re: How to show News on the home page

Exactly. The x2t theme puts the module content first, then the center blocks, whereas most other themes do it the opposite way.

This positioning of page elements is done in the theme's theme.html file.

Hey something messy taking place....

I want the news to be on top page (home page) but i dont want the contents of home page on the news page. If i follow the above method there is no difference between Home Link and News Link. News link should only have news and no other modules.

Home page should have
Welcome
Recent post
News

While
News page should have just
News
and no other blocks like welcome or recent post.

I hope you are understanding it. Is there anyway to get it done ???
