Footer Trouble

I can't seem to change the footer. I have checked under preferances in the administration area and have changed it (along with the meta tags), but nothing changed on the website. Any ideas as to what might be the problem. The website is VERY new, but if you want to see it, look at www.sugarblend.com . I want to put some differant stuff in the footer. Thanks.

try this:

Note: Remember to effect all changes you must go to Sytem Admin -> Preferences -> General Setting [edit] -> and set "update module template.html..." to yes and then select go at bottom of screen. This will update your site to effect all changes (remember to go back once settings have taken effect and set same to no and update once again).

You need to modify
/themes/default/theme.html

at the end of the file
<table cellspacing="0">
    <tr id="footerbar">
      <td><a href="https://xoops.org/" target="_blank"><img src="<{$xoops_imageurl}>poweredby.gif" alt="" /></a></td>
    </tr>
  </table>

In your theme, you need ensure this code:

<{$xoops_footer}>

is in the section of the theme.html that holds the footer. This will draw the content for the footer area from the preferences into the footer.

I got it changed but it wasn't by having this added. Where would I add this? It looks like this would be much easier to use in the long run. (I had to go in and use vi to make changes.) Thanks for the help.
