I downloaded this newbb hack for the recent posts.. I installed it when I first installed the forum. Since then I had to redo my database thus reinstalling the forum, and no, I hadn't backed up the site prior.. oops. Anyway, I'll admit I added these two lines..

View all new posts
View all unread posts

to the newbb_block_new.html and the newbb_index.html files,
but I totally fluked on the placement of the lines within these files. Ive tried every combination so far to no avail. Fluke once .. tear your hair out the next. Does anyone have a copy of these two files in their hacked state per chance? The read me file is rather vague on the implimentation of the hack.

ok.. i pm'd and emailed the authors.. and no one has replied to my enquiry here, so i assume, nobody really knows either, how or rather where the lines go?

Hello,

I take you mean the Templates?

Try finding the original files in your "default" template which you cant edit. You should then be able to just copy and paste the code from each file online in system admin->templates into your existing online template.

That is, open up the relevant files in the "default" template, copy and paste them one by one into the same files in your current template. You can do this online.

... its the newbb_block_new.html and the newbb_index.html files that i am supposed to edit. And its the location within these files where to put these two lines that i need to know. I tried every combo..

this file was submitted 2003/9/22

xoops 2.0.6 was released 2004/2/7

It overwrites a vital core file called checklogin.php? So I can't reproduce this in a trial on my system, perhaps someone else can help out who uses it..

Anybody? I tried again .... nada ... please? There has to be someone with these two files edited and working... one would think anyway. Thank you I really would like to be able to get rid of the added view recent posts off of the forum top... its congestive and viewing the last ten simply isnt enuff.. Thanx again
