Title says it all. Just installed it, and can create
new content blocks, but how to create/see the page tree?

You will need to make sure the block is enabled from Blocks admin and also set the group permissions for people to view new content in your blocks.

thanks, but I still can't see how to do that.

It's a concept problem I'm having.
I see lots of blocks listed in the blocks adming,
visible on all pages, group anonymous users.
So I want to add new content, but that does not
seem to be a new web page, only a side or centerblock
in the current page, or all pages.
But nowhere does it say: create new page here.

Regards,

You can use the News module for content and set up the News module as the default launch module in General Settings.

For web pages a number of choices are available, and a number of content modules are available for download.

tinycontent is a good one to work with

plus other content module around, they all have their own features

do a search for "soapbox", this is magazine style very good

Content are not created as "pages" but by installing and using modules.

E.g. this is a forum module, which when installed gives your users the possibility to add threads etc.

Depending on the content you want, different modules may suit your needs.

Allow me to comment as I also come from the uneducated (as far as XOOPS goes) user side.

I love Xoops. I have taken to it like a duck to water. But as I have posted about before, the way XOOPS does static webpage content is BASS ACKWARDS!

What you want to do is this:

Download the module TinyD (Tiny Content Duplicatable) install it. Install duplicates of it if you want more than one main menu item.

I have tried all of the Content modules. Many are great, and very useful for other things. But for "web pages" use TinyD.

This is all IMHO of course

The advantage of XOOPS is the choices available and they are all great for their purposes. The big brother off all content modules is wfsection, an amazing program, the best on the internet today, but it keeps disappearing from the scene. The developer Catzwolf is a lovely Scottish bloke who likes a load of begging, mouth watering, please gimmes, slurping, and complete desperation before he will dane to release his new updated module..

(not typical of all Scots I might add)
