Been using the Pafiledb (php standalone script) as a download mod. I just hyperlink to it, but some real issues are beginning to present themselves.

1) Anonymous users were unable to enter site, because I had the multimenu item assigned permissions and hyperlinked from the multimenu. Now the users just circumvent the home page and use a direct hyperlink into the downloads.

2) Too much leeching off the download files is a resulting problem.

3) It has too much Java in the PaFileDB, therefore it causes strange issues. Like when some users upload it works, and for others it doesn't.

4) The pafiledb works fine if the admin is managing all the file uploads.

5) Even with an almost open door into my uploads directory chmod 777 I still have to work to maintain a proper downloads, if someone else is uploading files.

I'm pretty well stuck with it until something comes along from XOOPS or...if anyone has a good suggestion.

Thought I'd bump this.

Still waiting and watching for mydownloads that works well with the function to allow upload of 1 graphic file describing download file and 1 file for download.

Submit and approval process is important, along with permission groups.
