Is there a way to restrict posts to news topics by group? I'm setting up a site where I want only certain people to contribute to a specific subject but I want everyone to be able to read and/or comment on the news.

The newest version of the news module will allow you to do this.

Currently it is in Release Candidate Status (RC2) and is not recommended for production or mission critical sites. You can get a copy athttp://dev.xoops.org
