So my host was hacked over the weekend and my site was one of the ones hit. From my knowledge my site had nothing to do with the hacking, but my damn php and index files were over written with some stupid files. Anyway, I can't seem to get my site back to the way it was before. I re-uploaded all of the files and such, with no luck. Has anyone had any experience with this type of thing? I am getting really frustrated with it, as I use this site as one of the ones for my web design portfolio. The url ishttp://minusdriven.com you can plainly see all the errors that have occurred. Any idea as to what I can do to fix this?

Thanks

chmod your mainfile.php to 777

Open your mainfile.php for starters and be sure that all paths, directories, database names and passwords are correct, edit where neccessary, although I doubt it has been touched.

Once you get that fixed, chmod it back to 444, and try to access your site.

What we need to do is get your XOOPS package able to access what it needs first, then we'll go the next step.

If your site was compromised, you might want to ensure that there are no extraneous files left by the hacker. For example, someone able to write to your directory could have planted a malicious .php script. The safe thing would be to delete everything, including the database, and restore everything from a backup.

oh hey I have another question. My system administration is really messed up. It has all of the old modules from when I last backed up my files, but it doesn't have the new modules I have installed listed in the menu. I tried using the "update" button on the modules administration and it says "Unable to write to main menu." Which file is it that I need to CHMOD to 777 to allow it to write to the main menu?

hmm... maybe you need to delete the cached admin.php file to make it regenerate, that might be it.. not sure though

Is it possible to use the same database for a new version of Xoops? I'm using XOOPS 2.0.3 and would like to update to a newer version.
