Okay, I am a n00b as you say. I have never used a php program but I used an auto-installer to set up Xoops. I was wondering how do it work. I want to create a webpage but how. Can I make one in html? But then how do the login and stuff get there. I am confused help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi JD291,

If you are only wanting a pamphlet style site with half a dozen pages or less, then you could very easily make one in html. However if you are wanting more complex features such as logins (and I assume access restrictions) then that is going to take a lot more than a post to give you the info you need. In a nutshell, what you need for a website is;

Registered Domain Name

DNS Hosting provider

Webserver accessable from the Internet

Website an content
