I install XOOPS fine. DB creates good and I log in successfully after installation.

I add some modules and all goes well.

When I go to view the homepage, nothing is there and I can never login again.

What files do I need to look at to troubleshoot this? makefile.php looks good.

Yes, good advice, XOOPS does blank pages if you have an error, so that is why you need to switch on phpdebug.

One quick method to try is to log back in by going to www.yoursite.com/user.php, it might let you depending on the problem

If you get a "your logged in "message", go to www.yoursite.com/admin.php by typing the path in your browser if you need to.

Then go to system admin-->preferences-->general settings and switch on phpdebug, then go back to the page with the problem and copy and paste the error results here.

Yeah, sorry. I just saw that page.

Here what I got. It is definitely the oscommerce module I installed.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function: tep_db_query() in /home2/local/home/www/www.domain.com/modules/shop/blocks/best_seller.php on line 10
Notice [PHP]: Use of undefined constant BOX_HEADING_BESTSELLERS - assumed 'BOX_HEADING_BESTSELLERS' in file modules/shop/blocks/best_seller.php line 6

How can I remove modules through the db?

go to system admin--modules, take out the "tick" next to the "Active" field to the right of the oscommerce module then click "submit". This deactivates the module, next time you go in you will see an "uninstall" icon appear to the right. Click that to uninstall
