What is the best way to add a form with a validator on XOOPS 2.0.6?

What I want is the following:

1. one menu item listed in the Main Menu
2. when clicked that menu item opens a form of my own design
(within the XOOPS site, just as the Contact Us or Edit Profile forms)
3. when submitted, a validator is run and error messages are displayed if errors, and a confirmation is displayed if all is checked (again, within the XOOPS site).

What is the best approach to this? I have no problem writing
the form or the validator, but I need help with integrating all this into xoops. Also, is there a generic form validator library that comes with xoops?

One way is to try Formulaire

It might at least be a good starting point but it does what you describe.

This is great. It _almost_ does everything I need. Perhaps
the validator needs to be a bit more complicated, but the
most urgent feature missing which I need is the ability to
add a detailed explanation for any field that may not be
very self-explanatory to the user. I know I can add all that to the Caption, but it gets really ugly when it's too long. One way I like is to have a third column in the form where I can stick in a long explanation if necessary for a field. Is this supported or in the works for Formulaire?

Have you taken a look at the No-Ah module. There is a release in the Module Dev Forge.

I don't know if it will do what you want but it is Formulaire on steroids.
