NewBB: How to change author of a post?

I have a member who has opened 2 accounts. He has agreed to choose one of the accounts and stick with it. I was wondering if there is a method to transfer the posts of his other account to the one he chooses.

Unfortunately, there is no easy method for doing this. However, he could add a line to his signature on the account he is no longer using to reflect which user he is under the new account.

yeah I'm not too keen on editing the dB...nope don't wanna do that if I don't have to.

So no easy way huh? Hmmmm, maybe in v3 we can have that option under edit post by admin in newBB?

Well, it could easily be done with a script. I think it would go something like identifying the uid by entering the users old name and then the same with their new name.

Then find all posts and topics started by the first uid and replace them with the second uid.

Anyone else with more experience with newbb, are xoops_bb_posts and xoops_bb_topics the only ones that need changing?
