There are a few. There is WMPdownloads, a modified mydownloads module by Samuels, and a new U-Bueaty mydownloads module that Catzwolf is working on, but it isn't released yet. Do a bit of searching and you should bring up some answers pretty quickly.

I'm using a php script called:
PAFILEDB - an upload and downloads utility

I use the multi menu to link to it and it has a nav button to return to homepage. It has permission package built into it along with a very competent downloads utility.

Until we get something better in Xoops...I stikin' wit it.

I'm not ragging on Xoops, everyone is pretty unhappy with the mydownloads mod at present.

thanx I'll look into both of them it is just I have a site that has over 170 files for download and inputting them 1 by 1 into the site through the mydownloads interface take forever to do.

See it working for real on Dana site for XOOPS Themes download

This is where I found it.

Upload your files with an FTP program. I use SmartFTP it's free and works great. Not hard too learn to use either.

Does your smartftp disconnect every so often??
Mine always did, I switched to AceFTP freeware, and I must sayd, I have had no problems. The most reliable little freeware I ever got my hands on. lol

Looks pretty good, but just be weary about deviating from the core of XOOPS as otherwise you'll complicate your upgrade path.

Not arguing here, but the PAfiledb is in it's own separate folder and has it's own MySQL db. All I'm providing is a link to it and from it...to mysite.com

It's a standalone php script.

unless you can see something I don't.
