check with the users and see if their firewalls (if any) are blocking http header referring as XOOPS requires this to be allowed and not blocked...

Thanks for the tip, the user did say they had turned off their norton to see if that was it, I mailed them the info anyway.

It also occurred to me that they might have a nat on their router that's blocking access, like to figure it out, but it's a new one to me...

NAT has nothing to do with this - if they can open the site in their browser. Software firewalls, blocking HTTP Referer would be my educated guess.

After upgrading to 2.0.7 I am getting now the same problem.
I've tried to register a user from the regular "registration" module, and couldn't.

Then I've tried to do so as Admin from within "Edit User", and got the same error: "Could not register new user."

Please also note that it seems like the system doesn't record anymore login and registration data:

Does anyone else encounter similar problems?

I replied to the other thread. Works fine for me. Firewalls are the most common reason.

Also note that I've seen some of these problems if you enable gzip in XOOPS or zlib Output Compression in php.ini.

You can get a full report of the PHP by creating a file with the line:
<?php phpinfo(); ?>
