Patience young max. Patience.
Directnic is a domain registrar, like 1&1, except that they work properly. You don't want to cancel your account with 1&1 now. You want to transfer your domain to another Registrar since they won't let you change your DNS to point to Surpass.
I don't know what would happen to your domain if you cancel with 1&1. With your luck so far, I wouldn't chance it.
Sign up with Directnic (it'll be easier to help you since I am familiar with their control panel), and request a domain transfer (you'll do this from Directnic). Unless they are a complete ripoff, 1&1 will then send you an email asking if that is what you want to do. Say yes, and let it happen.
Once the domain is safe and sound at Directnic, I can help you get it pointed to Surpass so that you can get your site up and running.
Until then, be calm, and stay away from caffeine.
