Hi,

I know it is possible to set a module as a startpage.
Is it possible to show another module after a member has logged in? i.e. news?

Bye,
Gijsbert

I did that at my site. I have a custom block visible only to anonymous users that they see when they first hit the site and have not logged in. It is at the top of the page with a "0" weight. Then after they log in they become "registered" and that block is replaced by a block that is visible only to registered users.

Did any of that make sense? I am beginning to wonder myself, lol.

Hi,

Thanks for the advice, but I can't create a block for the anonymous user. No matter what, the custom block appears in the the list of member blocks...

How do I create a block for the anonymous users? Is it a bug that I can't create a custom block after I jumped to the group 'anonymous'?

Thanks in advance,
Bye,
Gijs

You probably need to go to the System ADmin -> Group section of your XOOPS control panel.

Here you can check which blocks are available to individual groups. You should see your Custom Block appear in the list of blocks. Select each User Group to see who has visibility access to your block.

Hope that helps.

That is exactly how I do the same thing on my site - I use a "unregistered user only" block for people who have problems logging in - or creating an account.

You may have to set the visibility to all users first, then turn off the users who you dont want to see it.

So IS there a way to show an actual different startpage module for registered users versus anonymous visitors? I need more than a block. I want a different module to load, or even better would be a different page from the content module to load depending on the user group.

TS-MyStartup
TS-MyStartup 0.3
Features:
Quote:
This module allows an administrator to specify which module is shown at startup for a specific group after login or for anonymous users.

You can now redirect specific groups of users to a part of your site that suits them with an easy to use administration interface.

As an example you can configure your site to do this:
- Start the Content module for Anonymous users
- Start the News module for Registered users
- Start the Forum module for your forumadmins
- etc...

This module requires that you "hack" the include/checklogin.php page.

- Use version 0.2 for XOOPS 2.2.x
- Use version 0.3 for XOOPS 2.0.x
- Coming up... Version 0.4 merged version working on both XOOPS releases.
