To samuels:
a very interesting feature would be that a anonymous user can post, but typing in his name will display as a notregistered username, like on other several forums like IPB.

@samuels: It would be nice to add date and time to where it says "posted by" in a forum when you look at the threads. That way, you'll know when any thread was initially started.

This sounds great! I have a question though.

Is the code that marks topics as read or unread still based on cookies?

If it is, how about changeing it so it saves the read/unread info in the db per user? That way it works like phpbb and the messages are shown read or unead correctly even when you use lots of different computers to look at the forum.

when the module newbb pro is in your modules directory, it is listed in the uninstalled modules admin pages as having version 1.

after installation it would be listed as version 1.02.

Eastgrove:

I agree.

I think XOOPS should store all that information in the database and NOT as cookies. It doesn't work well enough as it is now.

@samuels:
Having a collapsible categories view would also be extremely nice.
For instance, when you select "mark all forums as read", it could collapse all the forums so only the category names were visible, and then whenever a forum got a new post, it would show under its category.
Would save a ton of screen space. :)

Nice ideas. And I'll see how phpbb saves the information about readed posts.

I'm testing new version on my site.
I have made the following changes:
-Some admin forum bugs solved.
-Lot's of notices and warnings corrected.
-New icon (with a dot inside) for showing your posts like ipb.
-Some Newbbex admin forum improvements added.
-New option "Print thread", it creates a page without format for easy printing like news module.
-New option for turn on/off the msg "Edited by".

By now I don't want to do more bd changes, I know Predator is working on a new version of newbb and I want to preserve some compatibility.
