was wondering how you can get banners and images to scroll in blocks of XOOPS like at this site www.adictoshp.org i see that it must be some kind html code.

really easy, it's a DHTML tag, allowed by the HTML standard now :

in your block put this at the beginning:

<marquee align="center" behavior="scroll" direction="up" height="120"  scrollamount="2" scrolldelay=" 10" onmouseover='this.stop()' onmouseout='this.start()'>


then here come such content for your block
and finish it with
</marquee>

Hi kenogui,

Thank-you for providing this useful code snippet. I have also been following the threads on URL rewrite for query string URLs. You hack loks very useful and easy to implement. I have previously been looking at Reynaldo's version of the re-write hack. Those of us who are looking to raise and promote the visibility of our websites will find these developments very helpful! At some point I would personaly like to see these ideas incorporated into the core scripts.

Glad you like it.

About the short URL hack published before mine, in fact you know, this hack is really not mature enough and not well-coded. I have nothing about its author, and I'm sorry to say that ... but for a lot of reasons I will not explain here to avoid off-topic, this is not a good hack, mine works better, really.

If you want, you can start a new forum topic about that and I will follow you to explain this to everybody.

I would like a lot to see my code integrated into XOOPS core, and frxoops.org webmasters are already really enthousiastic about it. Because of many reasons, XOOPS URLs are not bot-friendly at all, contrary to the words of some XOOPS team members.

About the marquee :

you can easily change all parameters to made new scroll direction and speed. The Little javascript included in the tag is my personal add but it's not obligatory, it's only to be more user-friendly by stopping the scroll when mouse is over it.
