I had problems with the title part, if they neglected to use one, the post was empty. So, I added text instructions on the signing page that all fields must be filled in.

I still got quite a few empty posts, just the name would be there. I posted several times myself to try and find where this happens. I found if the entry is previewed, it is there and when saving after previewing, it disappears.

Not knowing php, I deleted the preview button so they have no choice but to "post". I've had a few complaints as typos embarass them but no empty posts or blank pages so far!

I know a guy that is well educated writing php, java etc and he took a quick look at it. Said it is quite a complicated one as for how it fits together, it could take hours or days to nail it down so for now - no preview! Maybe some of the guys that made the original guestbook will be updating this?

I couldn't either use Xtremguestbook on XOOPS ver. 2.0.6.
I found this guest book instead at www.frxoops.org.
Is working very well, english and french translations.
http://altef.free.fr/download/xoops2-mod_xfguestbook_v1.zip

Try it and see if it fits your needs.

You can make xtremguestbook work for 2.0.6. Three ways:

1. Copy file xoopscodes.php from xtremguestbook to include/. This is NOT RECOMMENDED!
2. Or copy function xoopscodetarearet from xoopscodes.php of xtremguestbook and paste it to the actual include/xoopscodes.php.
3. Or copy xoopscodes.php of xtremguestbook to folder modules/xtremguestbook and adapt all paths to xoopscodes.php inside xtremguestbook.

Or try

THIS clone of xtremguestbook.

this appears to not really be working now either, it will not go back through previous entries. It will only show the last 5. Also MyMenu isnt working for me anymore since I upgraded either.

I finally gave up on this one and switched to narga's guestbook. Lucky for me only a few entries in the guestbook, so I copied and pasted them.
Aloha
