This module has already been done. You can find it at Xoops Flash Games

Actually I like it better than the one I saw for Mambo which came with 10 games, some pretty lame. This one can use any of the flash games, as few or as many as you want.

Looking for address/roster combo mod

I have looked at all the modules for addresses and rosters and none are quite right though if I could combine them! Some of the address ones are great but the "rate an address" and "most popular" not appropriate for a group of military vets.

Is anyone working on something like this, a group member database maybe with a few customizable fields ( for unit, callsign etc). Mambo has something like this when you install Loudmouth forums but I prefer Xoops. XOOPS is easier to use for the novice.

FYI - the new version of Mambo got my account temporarily suspended. It crashed the server trying to add a component! (Host said too many simualtaneous connections to the database and for some strange reason, it said 633 users online when I was the only one working on a new domain) To be fair, it may have been the component and I use an earlier version with no problems but I went back to XOOPS in a hurry!

I had problems with the title part, if they neglected to use one, the post was empty. So, I added text instructions on the signing page that all fields must be filled in.

I still got quite a few empty posts, just the name would be there. I posted several times myself to try and find where this happens. I found if the entry is previewed, it is there and when saving after previewing, it disappears.

Not knowing php, I deleted the preview button so they have no choice but to "post". I've had a few complaints as typos embarass them but no empty posts or blank pages so far!

I know a guy that is well educated writing php, java etc and he took a quick look at it. Said it is quite a complicated one as for how it fits together, it could take hours or days to nail it down so for now - no preview! Maybe some of the guys that made the original guestbook will be updating this?

I've had the same problem. I started with the default poll (due to lack of imagination) but have never been able to view the results. I got the email the poll was done with a link to view results but my page just says No yet with a wink! Its expiried for over a month .

There is a world of difference between the new version of Frontpage and previous ones. It includes tools to "clean code" and can be set to not add or change code on existing pages brought into Frontpage for editing.

I use HTML-Kit but like the preview in Frontpage. The new
version looks like a Dreamweaver knock-off (Frontpage is MUCH cheaper) but as an upgrade if you have an older FP version, is really worth the money.

Mine was working great- for a short time but lately many are writing to tell me they fill in all the boxes and when they post, nothing is there except the name and email address, the text box is empty. I spend a lot of time deleting these empty posts!

Are you using a script in any boxes calling for content, banners or images from another site? I'm only asking because that is what I have run into - using news from another site, everytime their site is down, mine is really slow loading. I'll get the header and the rest takes several minutes, then it finally gives up and my page is there, minus the news. Once they are back up, the site loads fast.

I tried Enigma for a few days and had way too many parse errors trying to "wrap" my html pages, real nice people there though tried to help with any problems I had. I tried out e-xoops, deleted it after playing with it one day, ran too slow on my hosts server and didn't have the features I needed. I hate to tell you how many I installed and tested and didn't give XOOPS a look as I thought they were one and the same.

Well, I ran onto a XOOPS site and was impressed with it's features so I clicked the little link at the bottom of the page and ended up here. I LOVE xoops! I tested over 15 CMS/portals. I am a novice, know little about php, you won't find a system that installs as easy and that goes for installing modules too. What I like the best, this is a large polite community. I have never been berated or seen it happen to others when needing help. I'm usually someone that will read for hours to find an answer to a problem, afraid of being told it's already been answered or that I'm an idiot and they are all PHP Gods. (one portal I tried out, that was the opinion of most of their posters)

There are several options for integrating other pages, FreeContent, TinyContent and Cjay Content beside the one already mentioned.

Sorry to be so long winded - I am just so thrilled with xoops, I plan on donating to keep the developers going!

I have installed the xtremeguestbook mod though I am not sure if I am using the correct version.(I can only read english and found it on a non-english site) It looks great though I have found if the "title" box is left blank, the post goes to a blank page and doesn't take. Only this box does this, email or website can left blank. Is this the way it is suppose to work or do I have the wrong version? The guestbook download I used is 2.0.3 and my version of XOOPS is 2.0.5. The first one I tried was 2.0 , it looked nothing like the rest of the site.

Unfortunately, I don't speak php either, just english!

Is there a guestbook for current version?

Hi,
This is my first post here after using XOOPS for a week. I am so impressed! I tried Mambo, LDU, literally most of them at Hotscripts and this one is the best! I hesitated because I had tried e-xoops and didn't care for it. LDU worked well but is not geared toward the type site we want.

My question now is, is there a guestbook mod somewhere for the current version? Not the one that is a user guestbook, one for the whole site. I have looked through several sites but may have mssed it on one that was not in english!

Thanks, I'll go back to reading now and will be quiet!
dee
