Hey all...I decided to try out the Invision boards to see how they were and I discovered that they didn't mesh with my style sheets and such...so I decided to go back to NewBB. Ever since going back, clicking on user names tries to bring up the Invision user details rather than the NewBB details...does anyone know what I need to do to correct this?

In the root of the ipb "uploads" folder you have files like edituser.php, userinfo.php, user.php etc. You need to overwrite all these files on your server with your original XOOPS files to the root of your XOOPS installation.

Also make sure all the files in the ipb "class" "include" and "kernal" folders are restored to the original, you will need to look at each individual file that was used in these folders. Also check out the files in the ipb modules/system folder that need to be replaced and update your "system" files in system admin/modules.

Edit:

A good rule of thumb is never overwrite core files without first re-naming the original files on the server to something like: orgfile.php

Otherwise you can get into a real mess later when changing or upgrading..

Just a question..am I replacing the files in the IPB folder with XOOPS files or am I looking for the corresponding file in the XOOPS folders and replacing them?

Well, now instead of getting a module not found error, I just get a white page when I try and look at profiles. I think I've replaced everything...

You are looking for the corresponding file in the XOOPS folders and overwriting the same files on your server.

First look in the "uploads" folder in the ipb download and check out the files that were uploaded. Then go to the same files in your XOOPS "download" and upload them to your server.

Well, I switched every file back to the orginal one from Xoops...but I'm still getting a blank white page, so I must be missing something. Would it be less trouble to set it back up from scratch? I could keep my mainfile.php and config.php with the DB and just redo everything else...I kinda want to switch from the directory its in anyway, so I guess I can try it first without touching what I've already got.

Can you get into admin/preferences/general settings? If so you can switch on php debug and post the results Here

To manually switch on debug see this article Here

Otherwise you may need to revert to what you suggest, at your own risk though hopefully you dont have a database problem. Remember to update all your modules and system files in system admin/modules

good luck..

LOL...apparently I had fixed everything. I put it on PHP Debug mode and it was giving me errors with the story module I had installed over the weekend. It wasn't what I was thinking it was so I was going to install it anyway...but its what was giving me errors. I de-activated it and I have my profiles again

Thanks for the help.
