How do I determine what version of Xoops is installed

I downloaded both the latest stable and the RC and I can't remember which version I installed where. Is the version number stored someplace in a file or on the site?

Yes it is.
Go to : your_xoops_site\include\version.php
You can see that (for example):

define("XOOPS_VERSION","XOOPS 2.0.5.2");
?>
