Hi, I've just installed Xoops.

Problem I had: blank page. After turning on debugging by directly working in MySQL (see http://wiki.xoops.org/wakka.php?wakka=TroubleshootingBlankPage) I notices that I had to fix this:

"7. Make sure that the cache, uploads, templates_c directories are CHMOD 777 (anonymous r/w permission on Windows)"

After that, the only errormessage that didn't go away is:

Notice
: Use of undefined constant _MB_SYSTEM_LPASS - assumed '_MB_SYSTEM_LPASS' in file modules/system/blocks/system_blocks.php line 95
Notice
: Use of undefined constant _MB_SYSTEM_RNOW - assumed '_MB_SYSTEM_RNOW' in file modules/system/blocks/system_blocks.php line 96
Notice
: Use of undefined constant _MB_SYSTEM_HOME - assumed '_MB_SYSTEM_HOME' in file modules/system/blocks/system_blocks.php line 110

What should I do, probably I won't see this error after turning off debugging mode, but I would like to know if its a problem (and how to fix it)

NEVER MIND

After logging in as admin my page looks like this:

SCREENSHOT

Whats wrong?

As long as you don't see Fatal Errors, you can disregard Notices & Warnings messages.

Yeah, I could turn of debugging, and probably the errortext wouldn't show up, but the menu on the left doesn't look like I assume it's supposed to...

Also seems this error has something to do with the way the leftside looks?

Are you on lycos? your screenshot is, if so there is blank page probs with lycos installs

See these threads:
Here

And Here

If you do a search using "lycos" you will probably find a lot more posts

If no success, perhaps a new post asking how to install XOOPS on lycos?

regards

tnx, but my webspace is NOT lycos, and I do not have the blankpage problem (anymore).

I have only have the problem you see in the screenshot: the leftmenu doens't build properly, and the errormessage seems to have to do something with it as far as I can see

hmmm --- when I've seen this problem in the past it was because my language files were not complete. I would suggest deleting & then re-uploading the language directory as well as the /modules/system directory.
